Direct seed - Sow in early spring when soil is cool and a light frost is still possible, or late autumn. Surface-sow and keep soil evenly moist until seedlings emerge. Pinching plants is not necessary nor beneficial. Iceland poppies perform best in cooler conditions – below 70°F.
